Who We Are
Tallahassee Community Friends of Old-Time
Dance started in 1982 with a small group of people
who were (or wanted to be) dancers, musicians, or
callers. It has grown through the years from a
small, sometimes one-square dance to rather large,
sometimes crowded dances. The group is a non-profit
organization dedicated to the enjoyment,
preservation, and study of American traditional and
historic dance, music, and song.
A Dance Board (Executive Committee) is
elected by members of the group at an Annual Meeting
in the fall, and is responsible for putting on the
dances. Members serving on the Dance Board
currently include Mary Allgire, Bronwyn Chelette,
Tom Greene, Bill Hoatson, Anna Klassen, Robert
Moleski, Vicki Morrison, Jimmy Prater, John
Reynolds, Larry Teich and Claire Wright. The
Dance Board normally consists of 9 to 11 members,
and we would like to recruit additional Board
members.

Dance! We are always looking to add new
members to the group. Membership
allows you to support the dance and to vote for
members of the Dance Board. Membership must be renewed
annually. Print out this Membership Form and
mail or bring it to a dance. Pay your dues
by including your check with the form.
You can also pay for
membership online, at the link below. If you
pay online, no Membership form is needed. On
the online payment page, scroll down to the
Membership section, and select your desired
membership level.
